A Yorkshire pottery Chinese style near spherical vase, probably Brameld, Swinton, circa 1800, the flat lid modelled with lion passant and with lioness pattern handles to the bowl, painted with chinoiserie figures and animals in a palette of iron red and gilt against blue, 44cms.
A printed note dated 1927 found within makes reference to Jewitt’s Ceramic Art of Great Britain, second edition 1883, figure 871.
