Palestine Currency Board, a uniface obverse trial for a £50, ND (1937), green and pale yellow, value in pink guilloche at left, the Al-Jazzar Mosque in Acre at left with chuch tower visible (see Dabbah p.326), value at each corner (Dabbah ND37-17). On the 7th April 1937 a series of proofs/designs were sent to the Currency Board in Palestine for approval. The proofs were discussed on April 19th and June 21st where a decision was taken to produce alternative designs (British Library C.S.B. 117/5 1937 volume). This series never adopted, this is the Dabbah plate note. Ink date '7.4.37' in low left margin, uncirculated and of the highest rarity £30,000-35,000

Palestine Curency Board, a die proof £100, Jerusalem, 10 September 1942, blue and white, the White Tower at Ramleh, 'al-Manara', built by al-Malak Mohammad al-Nasser, the second Mamluk Sultan to rule over Palestine (1293-1341), value at centre, three printed signatures of the members of the Palestine Currency Board low centre, Sir John Caulcutt, Sir Percy Ezechiel and E.B.Boyd (Pick 11c for type, Dabbah p.181), this is the Dabbah plate note. No issued notes are believed extant for the issue of 1942 and most interestingly no other issue has the same combination of signatories. The note is signed by E.B. Boyd, one of the three signatories, at top left with the annotation 'Approved 8/1/42'. Good extremely fine and quite probably unique £12,000-16,000
