Brand (John) The History and Antiquities of the Town and County of the Town of Newcastle upon Tyne, bound in 4 vols., 4to, 19th-century half morocco, gilt arms of Newcastle on upper covers, engraved titlepages, portrait, plates, interleaved with some manuscript additions, extra-illustrated with numerous additional maps, illustrations (many etchings by T.M. Richardson), ephemera and other documentation relating to the history of Newcastle upon Tyne (including the Royal Grammar School and an early lithograph of an Oliver Cromwell document relating to the East India Company), 1789.
John Brand's own copy, with two manuscript letters of provenance loosely inserted at the beginning. The additional illustrations include three original watercolours of Newcastle.
