1793-1814 MGSM 7 clasps Ciudad Rodrigo, Badajoz, Salamanca, Vittoria, Pyrenees, Nivelle, Toulouse to Wm Wilson 43rd Foot small edge bruise very fine. With copied muster research, rolls etc, William Wilson was a weaver from Newcastle, who enlisted 14/04/1809 having served with 2nd West York Militia. He served in the Walcheren Expedition and Portugal with the 2nd Bn, transferred to the 1st Bn in June 1811. He was discharged 24/3/1816. Ex DNW 24/6/2009, sold for £2000. (See photo) (R) £2200

With copied service papers, muster, roll, census etc, Robert Saunders was born in Denton, Oxford in 1776, served in Somerset Cavalry 1/11/1799, then enlisted 11th Light Dragoons 19/8/1800, served in Peninsula War May 1811-April 1814 and France March to June 1815 (not on Waterloo roll), over 12 years as a Sgt, discharged due to being worn out and having a chronic liver complaint for some years past, ex Spink April 2009. 1815 Waterloo Medal to Corp Thomas Chapple 1st Batt 4th Reg Foot small edge bruise, very fine, replacement ring. With copied research and rolls, also awarded an MGSM 5 clasps Corunna, Badajoz, Salamanca, Vittoria and Nive as a Sgt. The 4th Foot took part in the recapture of the vital Farm of La Haye Sainte, and for their steadfast and discipline during the battle were permitted to encircle their badge with a laurel wreath. The 1851 census shows him aged 73 living in High Wycombe and listed as a Chelsea pensioner. (See photo) (R) £2000

A Alexander Cameron was attached to Bengal Artillery with 140 clasps issued for Bhurtpoor. Attested in Edinburgh 31/10/1821, arrived India on Duchess of Athol 6/7/1822 and invalided to Europe 5/10/1832. Another Alexander Cameron was issued an MGSM Martinique clasp, but unlikely to be same person. (See photo) (R) £800

1842 China War Medal to P. Bedingfield Capt 37th Madras Nat Infantry nearly extremely fine. With good range of copies research, Philip Bedingfield was born circa 1803 in Ditchingham, mentioned in Maj Pratt's dispatch dated 8/1/41 for action during the capture of forts and batteries at Chuenpee Point, "I had previously ordered two companies of the 37th native infantry under Captains Bedingfield and Wardroper to scour round a hill to the right of the advance, where they encountered the Chinese in some force, and drove them away with much loss. Captain Duff commanding the corps, speaks highly of the conduct of these companies," invalided 4/4/43, retired as Major 5/2/46. (See photo) (R) £750

Lockwood Surgn 7th Fusiliers, suspension re-affixed, contact marks to edge, Turkish Crimea Medal (Sardinian) un-named as issued suspender replaced by ring and French Second Empire Legion D'Honneur Knight's breast badge indistinct hallmark on bottom ribbon on reverse. With large qty of copied research including photo, Augustus Purefoy Lockwood was born in Kilkenny in 1820, Asst Srgn 30th Foot 5/10/41, 2nd Class Staff Srgn 21/9/52, Staff Srgn 7th Foot 6/1/54, to 8th Hussars 11/5/55, awarded French Legion D'Honneur in London Gazette dated 1st May 1857, to 2nd Dragoons 31/8/58, to half pay 4/4/65. He served in the Eastern Campaign with 7th Fusiliers including the actions at Bulgahack and McKenzie's Farm, Battles of Alma, Inkermann and Sebastopol, and with the 8th Hussars at the Battle of Tchernya and the Fall of Sebastopol. Also served with 8th Hussars during the Indian Mutiny and awarded Indian Mutiny Medal with Central India clasp (this missing). (See photos) (R) £600
