(243) £2,000-2,500 This large company was formed in England to acquire textile factories around Moscow. It lost these factories to the revolutionaries and the subsequent new Government in 1918 but the company remained in existence. When the Foreign Compensation Commission made payment to bondholders and to companies and individuals that lost property during the revolution in Russia this company received considerable funds. Its first duty was to repay debenture holders as these held first charge over all of the company's assets. This process took many years until no more debenture holders could be found and the company was wound up. All of the bonds here have been repaid and cancelled and are being sold in aid of charity by the company's agents. |
