Panel also bears a 'Free' postmark. Affixed to a same-sized card with hinging remnants to reverse. In fine condition, with trimmed edges and some scattered toning and soiling. Accompanied by RR Auction Certificate of Authenticity. [Field Marshal Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington was a British soldier and statesman and one of the leading military and political figures of the 19th century. Wellesley's battle record is exemplary, ultimately participating in some 60 battles throughout his military career. (Photo) (plate 16) A 17.6x20.1cm BEA Flight Bulletin completed via carbon copy in block capitals in another hand, 'from' Captain P.J. McKeown captaining a Viking Vital with an airspeed of 210mph, specifying a delay of 25 minutes, gives details of the flight calling at Northolt Airport, London at 22:35, reports that the weather in London as 'Cloudy with rain i.e. as usual', key to the form is a note across the lower edge of the page 'We regret the bumpy conditions, but we are afraid they are unavoidable'. The document is signed across the top right corner in black ink and with a shaky hand 'Ingrid Bergman 1948', in good condition considering its journey. A fascinating piece, with one horizontal and three vertical folds marks. [Key to this piece is Bergman received a Best Actress nomination for Joan of Arc (1948), an independent film based on the Maxwell Anderson play Joan of Lorraine, produced by Walter Wanger, and initially released through RKO. The film was not a big hit with the public, partly because of the scandal of Bergman's affair with Italian film director Roberto Rossellini, which broke while the film was still in theatres. Even worse, it received disastrous reviews, and although nominated for several Academy Awards, did not receive a Best Picture nomination.] Cat. £600 £200

For some weeks before Christmas I'm extremely busy with parcels and cards. I hear from so many people, all over the world, and then 2 weeks before Christmas I had the influenza, and of course that made things much worse. Anyhow here the signed cards at last. All good wishes for the New Year. Sincerely, Millvina Dean" Addressed in her own hand across the top right corner. And dated 'Dec. 30th, 1999'. Slight transfer smudge from the print of the hedgehog to the lower left corner, which does not affect the handwriting, otherwise good condition.
