Prince Albert, the three piece ebonised rod with ornate chaste and engraved silver mounts, hallmarks for Edinburgh 1861, inscribed 'A & G Wilson, Fishing Rod and Tackle Makers to H.R.H.P.A. Edinburgh' the hinged pommel decorated in relief with silver thistles and inset with an amber glass roundel, the ornate silver rod end stops also inset with amber glass, with two cane top sections which can be stored in the handle section, housed in a glazed mahogany presentation caseThis rod was made in the same year that Prince Albert died, therefore it is unlikely it was made especially for him.
