RORY KNIGHT BRUCE HUNTING COLLECTION

Lots 1436-1457 form part of the Sporting Collection of Rory Knight Bruce, author of 'Red Letter Days: Hunting Across the British Isles' (2008). He is well known to readers of the Field, Country Life, and Horse & Hound, and was Master of three packs of hounds: the United, Tedworth, and Torrington Farmers. He has, and continues to be, a practitioner and advocate of all field sports.

NEST OF 19THC HUNTING HORNS three hunting horns of various sizes, by Swaine & Adeney, Butler of Haymarket, and one other. Said to be the property of Thomas Assheton Smith (MFH - Tedworth), and by family descent to Rory Knight Bruce. Also with a book, Portraits of the Tedworth Fox. *Thomas Assheton Smith was Master and Huntsman of the Tedworth in Wilshire. These horns came by descent from C P Shrub (another Tedworth Master), and are believed to have been used by Assheton Smith himself. See Illustration £150-250
