PHARMACY JARS - CONTENTS OF A VICTORIAN CHEMISTS SHOP a wonderful collection of glass pharmacy jars, purchased from a shop in Weston Super Mare in the 1970's. The jars are hand blown and mostly with their labels intact. They include, 39 jars of 41cms high (R Sarzae, R Kramer, P Boracls, Tapioca, C Quercus, R Valerian, C Limonis, R Scillae etc). 10 jars of 28cms high (Jalape, Tr Tann Fruct etc), 30 jars of 24cms high, 51 jars of 21cms high. Also with some pottery jars, 7 jars of 16cms high, and 19 jars of 8cms high. *These bottles have been assessed by a qualified Pharmacist, and any dangerous substances have been removed. ARCHIVE RELATING TO EDNA THORNTON - AUTOGRAPHS an interesting archive, including an autograph book from the 1910's/20's (various actors and singers of the day), a letter from Downing Street (signed by Elizabeth Asquith), a letter from Marlborough House, Pall Mall, from E W Wallington on behalf of the Prince & Princess of Wales (Wallington was Groom to the Bed Chamber of the Prince of Wales, later King George, and also became Queen Mary's private secretary). Also with signed programmes, postcards, cuttings etc. *Edna Thornton (1875-1964) was an Opera Singer, first appearing at Covent Garden in 1905, and was a mainstay of the British National Opera Company until her retirement in 1924. £200-300

LARGE HOUDINI POSTER - OTIS LITHOGRAPHIC CO a wonderful poster of unusually large proportions, circa 1926 and printed on eight sheets. Titled, 'Buried Alive, Egyptian Fakirs Outdone, Master Mystifier, Houdini, and marked Otis Litho Co. The poster is mounted on a linen backing. 262cms by 200cms. *This poster was produced in four and eight sheet versions. The Otis Litho Co was a major lithographer for film studios located in Cleveland. They completed work for various studios and other lithographers. See Illustration £5000-7000
