Smokebox Numberplate 90708. Ex WD 2-8-0 locomotive, built at Vulcan Foundry, Works Number 5212 in February 1945 and originally numbered 79269. Taken shortly after the end of WWII into BR stock and allocated to Newton Heath. Later to Oldham Lees and then back to Newton Heath where withdrawal took place w/e 2/5/64 from Newton Heath allocation but located at Agecroft - presumably stored there. Sold to Slag Reduction of Rotherham, and sent off 3/9/64 Face restored, rear ex loco.

South Eastern Railway 18 inch dial Oak cased drop dial fusee clock, number 292, a large and heavy clock and a rare example of a large railway timepiece circa mid 19th century, complete with pendulum but no key. The Southern Railway clock records show that this clock was located at Waterloo up local platform.

SR enamel Target SOUTHFIELDS. Ex LSWR station originally opened by the Metropolitan Railway in 1889. It was the LSWR extension from Putney Bridge to Wimbledon and is today the closest station to the famous tennis club. Very good condition with just the usual edge chipping.

Exceptional condition, the box has been opened but the contents never removed so classified as 'mint boxed'.

Ian Allan double sided Advertising Board depicting a King Class Loco in cut-out style having 'The World's Leading - Ian Allan - Transport Publisher' emblazoned across the smokebox door. Appears to be some form of flexible plastic material, 30 3/4" x 25 1/4" and is in exceptional condition. A rare survivor for sure. Also, WD & HO Wills Gold Flake Honey Dew Tobacco Advertising Card depicting GWR 'King' Class 4-6-0 number 6000 King George V on a passenger train. Cut-out style in full colour, 16" x 12". Some scuffs but a scarce sign in this condition.

Carriage Print 'West Wycombe, Buckinghamshire' by Horace Wright from the LNER Post War series issued around 1947. High Wycombe is the large, and for the south distinctly hilly, town set on the former GW&GC Joint Line to the Midlands. A couple of miles further west into the Chilterns is West Wycombe. Two tears to top edge border only, otherwise good. In original style frame & glazed.

Webb & Thompson Single Line Staff, brass plated at the end CRANLEIGH - BAYNARDS. Ex London Brighton & South Coast section between Rudgwick and Bramley & Wonersh on the old Guildford to Christ's Hospital route. Both stations opened in 1865 and closed in 1965. Baynards has a very interesting history, not least of which being the location for the early BBC adaptation of The Railway Children. Cranleigh served the famous school and the ex Southern Railway Schools Class CRANLEIGH was named after it.

Carriage Door Push Plates, Qty 3, two of which are gilt (9 1/2" x 2 1/2") and one brass (113/4 x 2 1/2"). Manufactured by James Cartland & Sons, Constitution Hill, Birmingham. Makers initials are cast into the back along with the date, 1864 and the Registration No 190677. Each has a most ornate pattern cast into the face. Vendor's father was foreman of the Carriage Repair Shop Swindon and he acquired these on his retirement as they were most likely spares held in the Stores. Confirmed by the Collections Officer at the Steam Museum Swindon, to be identical to those held by the Museum that originated from the 1897 Diamond Jubilee Train. Apart from the Museum holdings, these are almost certainly to be of utmost 'royal' rarity and a significant piece of British railway heritage.

Totem, BR(E) ROYDON, H/F. Ex Great Eastern Railway station on the line from Broxbourne to Bishops Stortford. A rare totem that has only appeared once before for sale at auction and this is the same one, in good restored condition.

Nameplate John Grooms. Ex Inter City 125 Locomotive Number 43020 named at Paddington station on 25/08/93 by the late Margaret Thatcher MP, and former Prime Minister . The locomotive then headed the 10.00 service from Paddington to Swansea for a reception at Cardiff. The nameplates were removed approximately six years later when the locomotive was repainted.

Southern Railway enamel sign 'SR IFIELD HALT' with the SR in Sunshine lettering, 36" x 30". Ex LB&SCR station opened in 1907 as Lyons Crossing Halt. Some areas of restoration.

Together with a circular 'Power' Indicator/Block Bell mounted on a wooden board with A-B Switch and glazed indicator panel showing switching for East Croydon Station and also a display panel headed 'Down Main From Tonbridge to Ashford. Has three columns of lights each one having different lines indicated including Headcorn to Ashford and Paddock Wood to Headcorn. Measures 13" x 10" x 4".

Single Line steel Key Token with brass plate affixed both sides to end PENRITH No 1 - BLENCOW No 22. Ex CKPR section introduced in June 1938 when Redhills Junction signal box closed. It lasted until December 1967 when electric token working between Penrith and Keswick was completed. Ex box condition.

GWR C/I Cabside Numberplate 5677. Ex GWR 0-6-2T built Swindon in September 1926 for use in the Welsh Valleys. Finished up at Croes Newydd from where withdrawal took place during w/e 6/11/65. Sold to Cohen Kingsbury 16/12/65. Neatly welded and face restored. The smokebox appears elsewhere in this auction.

GNR cast-iron mechanical slot indicator, complete and in ex-box condition, clearly embossed inside "GNR. L 77", marked "Grand Sluice, Down Main Distant, On 1 Off'. In full working order with all bolts freed and oiled. Together with a GNR 2-gallon, paraffin can, stamped "G.N.R." and with brass plate "G.N.R. 1854", in remarkably good condition, complete with brass stopper, also stamped "G.N.R."; the tin-plate repainted black.

Original Oil Painting 'Moorswater Shed' by Don Breckon (Guild of Railway Artists). Painted by the artist is 1976, it shows a very rustic scene of ex GWR Locos 5502 and 4565, being readied for duty. The two-road engine shed at Moorswater, Cornwall was on the Liskeard & Looe branch, built in 1893 by the Liskeard & Looe Railway. The shed disappeared in 1963. Oil on canvas measuring 28" x 20". Note: The shed was built by the independent Liskeard & Looe Railway in 1893 and closed in 1960.

Battle Of Britain Class Locomotive Nameplate Crest showing the RAF Badge. Vitreous enamel centre with gunmetal frame. A number of B-O-B locos carried this generic RAF Crest, primarily the 'Airfields', 'Fighter Aircraft' and some 'Personalities'.
