AIRMAILS - RABAUL AIRWAYS AND GUINEA AIRWAYS:1933 (26 Aug) env. carried on the 1st Port Morseby to Rabaul flight This flight was forced to land and towed to Lae being delayed for six weeks before it arrived at Talasea. 1935 (5 March) env. carried on the 1st Port Morseby to Abau flight (29 carried). This flight was as a result of a planter missing the Burns Philp steamer and needing to get home. The plane landed on the beach at Dedele before onward transmission by canoe to Abau. Pilot signed. AIRMAILS - THE FLY RIVER FLIGHTS:1935 (31 Aug) env. carried on the 1st Daru to D'Albertis Junction, Fly River. (81 carried). 1935 (24 Oct) env. carried on the 1st Oroville Police Camp, Upper Fly river to Port Moresby (40 carried) Both are pilot (S Campbell) signed. 1935 (1 Sept) env. carried on the 1st Daru to Port Darwin flight(this flight was delayed as the pilot was forced to land on the Fly River and drifted downstream for 4 days to the Madiri Mission, and recovered by government launch and towed back to Daru., the mail was transferred to a flying boat which itself was damaged but after repair delivered the mail on 27th Sept). 1935 (4 Nov) 1st flight from Port Moresby to Oreville Police Camp. (89 carried) and the return flight (117 carried). A good lot. (5 covers). PHOTO - see page 54. £200

AIRMAILS - GUINEA AIRWAYS - 1st PORT MORESBY TO LAKE KUTUBU POLICE CAMP:1937 (11 Oct) env. carried on the 1st Port Moresby via Kikori to Lake Kutubu flight. Also a similar cover carried in the reverse direction. Only 17 such covers were carried on each flight. Both pilot signed (A Koch) and certified by the police officer in charge (I Champion).
