The Anglo-Palestine Bank Limited, a set of hand executed essays/trials on thin card for the emergency issue of 1948, comprising 500 mils, £1, £5, and £10, all black and white, all dated 1948 and with zero serial numbers, value in panel at left and right and all with Hoofien and Barth signatures low left and rectangular purple handstamp 'Dugma' (Specimen) across the face of the note (Pick 1-4 for types, Birnbaum page 91 for similar, Arkin page 14/15, Tepper page 36/37 for types), produced by Shoshani Printers in Tel Aviv due to the expected shortage of currency following the British departure on the 15th May 1948. The notes were never distributed and were destroyed after the arrival of the American Banknote printed issue in July 1948. Uncirculated and rare (4) £5,000-6,000
