1942 (Aug & Nov) and 1943 (May) Stampless covers from A.W.S Hill, on active service in Egypt, to his brother Driver A.W Hill, P.O.W of the Japanese, addressed c/o Japanese Red Cross, Tokyo or directly to Malaya or Thailand, all with Deputy Field Censor and Japanese censor cachets, the first two with some edge faults; 1942 telegram to A.W.S Hill in Cairo informing him his brother was a P.O.W; and a British Red Cross postcard informing him his letter had been forwarded to Tokyo. Also 1943 (Dec) and 1945 (Jan) stampless covers from London to Driver Hill in Thailand both returned to sender with the violet cachet "Addressee Reported / NOW NOT / Prisoner of War". (7). 1944 (Apr) - 1945 (Aug) 3d Violet (10) or 1 1/2d brown (3) P.O.W postal stationery postcards from London to Driver Hill, P.O.W in No. 1 Thai Camp, two 3d postcards returned with the violet cachet "Addressee Reported / NOT NOW / Prisoner of War", another redirected to "S.S "Orbita", P.O. Box 164, London EC1, England" and returned with violet boxed "RETURNED IN UNDELIVERABLE MAILS / FROM TERRITORY FORMERLY OCCUPIED / BY JAPANESE FORCES". The three 1 1/2d cards also all returned with the cachets "RETURNED FROM ABROAD / SERVICE SUSPENDED", "SERVICE / SUSPENDED / RETURN TO SENDER" or boxed "RETURNED IN UNDELIVERABLE MAILS / FROM TERRITORY FORMERLY OCCUPIED / BY JAPANESE FORCES". 1942-44 Printed Japanese P.O.W cards from Driver A.W Hill in Singapore or Thailand (4) to his parents in London (4) or his brother in Cairo, comprising undated Singapore card, unusually with 85 word message telling of his capture; second type Thailand cards with grey printed backs (3, all undated, endorsed as received 29 Dec 1943 (2) or 1 Jan 1944); and third type Thailand card on thin paper with printed reverse, dated 7th Jan 1944, to Cairo. The final card with central fold and edge soiling, otherwise generally fine for these, all with Japanese and British censor cachets, the final card also censored in Germany.
